Hongbin Kim is a New York–based visual artist whose work captures the electric tension between harmony and disruption in contemporary life. Kim’s works are marked by vibrant color palettes, raw textures, and a visceral engagement with themes of rupture, healing, and nostalgia. He holds an MFA from the School of Visual Arts and has exhibited internationally, including recent presentations at ACC Gallery, Stephanie Kim Gallery, and Gallery Chang. His recent exhibitions and press features in VISIONARY ART COLLECTIVE, VoyageLA, and Money Today have cemented him as a rising talent to watch.
“I came to New York from Seoul, South Korea in 2023, carrying my dreams, hopes, family, and everything that shaped who I am. While the uncertainty of the future and the chaos of New York City often felt overwhelming, I am deeply grateful that 1 am able to paint and create here.
In this drawing, the background represents "the scenery seen through an airplane window." Bright colors are used to express optimism and hope, serving as symbols of resilience, determination, and belief in what lies ahead.
I hope this work connects with you on an emotional level and reflects the shared human experience of dreaming, hoping, and moving toward a better future.”
